The ‘See Through’ bonnet on the new Land Rover discovery
The idea that the new Land Rover Discovery family – which we’ll get a first look at in New York this month – will come with a see-through bonnet does seem like it’s a story we should have run on 1st April. But it’s not. In fact, the Transparent Bonnet virtual imaging Concept is an augmented reality view of what’s ahead when you’re off-road, so you have full visibility of what’s ahead and below the car.

A coupe/cabriolet version of the appealing IS250 was Lexus’s highlight at Paris. Its three-piece folding metal roof completes its gymnastics in just 20 seconds before folding flat in the cavernous boot. All very well, but the ugly rear end totally undermines any showroom appeal.
Not to be left in the Nordschleife hot-lap dust, McLaren took to the German track as part of its testing of the all-wheel-drive MP4-12C, and of course, there's video. First we see the engineers making final adjustments before a quick montage of the MP4-12C testing across the world. After a few words from McLaren brass and test driver Rudi Adams, they hit the track.
